چکیده
Aspergillus fungi produce mycotoxins that are detrimental to human and animal health. Two sections of aspergilli particular importance cereal food crops such as corn barley. section Flavi species like A. flavus parasiticus aflatoxins, while Circumdati ochraceus sclerotiorum ochratoxin Mitigating these toxins in feed is a critical ongoing worldwide effort. We have previously investigated biosynthetic gene clusters linked fungal virulence corn. found one cluster, asa , responsible for the production aspergillic acid, an iron-binding, hydroxamic acid-containing pyrazinone metabolite. Furthermore, we cluster present many other aflatoxin- ochratoxin-producing aspergilli. The core encodes small nonribosomal peptide synthetase-like (NRPS-like) protein AsaC. swapped asaC ortholog from into replacing its native copy, also cloned both orthologs Saccharomyces cerevisiae . show AsaC only containing adenylation-thiolation-reductase (ATR) domains, can selectively biosynthesize distinct natural products: deoxyaspergillic acid flavacol, respectively. Because products their implicated variety important microbe-host interactions, uncovering function selectivity enzymes involved could lead strategies ultimately benefit

Studies on Aspergillus Section Flavi from Peanut in Iran
During 2010 and 2011, Aspergillus species from section Flavi were isolated from rhizosphere in main peanut-growing region of Iran, Astaneh-e Ashrafiyeh, Guilan Province (northern Iran). The soil samples were taken from fruiting zone of peanuts in 3 districts and 10 locations, during the pod-filling period. The populations of Aspergillus section Flavi showed significant differences in cfu g-1 am...
متن کاملContamination of Stored Pistachios to Aspergillus Section Flavi and Aflatoxins
Background: Contamination of stored pistachio nuts to Aspergillus section Flavi and aflatoxins (AFs) as well as effective parameters on fungal growth and AF production during storage was assayed. Methods: Twenty one pistachio nut samples were taken from some warehouse of Damghan county. Different parameters of storage, including temperature, relative humidity, and pest infestation were recorded...
متن کاملEvaluating Aflatoxin Gene Expression in Aspergillus Section Flavi.
The determination of aflatoxin production ability and differentiation of aflatoxigenic strains can be assessed by monitoring the expression of one or several key genes using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). We herein describe the methods for RNA induction, extraction, and quality determination, and the RT-PCR conditions used to evaluate the ability of a given Aspergillu...
متن کاملIDENTIFICATION AND PREVALENCE OF ASPERGILLUS SPECIES IN SOILS OF FARS AND KERMAN PROVINCES OF IRAN AND EVALUATION OF THEIR AFLATOXIN PRODUCTION
Aspergillus species are major causes of pre- and post-harvest degradation of agricultural products. During 2004-07, the presence and population of Aspergillus species were studied in various fields and orchards of Fars and Kerman Provinces. Soil samples were collected from 0-40 cm depth. Isolates were recovered from soil using modified Czapek, AFPA and SPDA media. Based on macroscopic and micro...
متن کاملAspergillus hancockii sp. nov., a biosynthetically talented fungus endemic to southeastern Australian soils
Aspergillus hancockii sp. nov., classified in Aspergillus subgenus Circumdati section Flavi, was originally isolated from soil in peanut fields near Kumbia, in the South Burnett region of southeast Queensland, Australia, and has since been found occasionally from other substrates and locations in southeast Australia. It is phylogenetically and phenotypically related most closely to A. leporis S...
